KubeCon EU is just around the corner, so KubeCrash, the Amsterdam warm-up event, is here too! This is our third time hosting KubeCrash, a KubeCon co-located event for “timezone-left-behinds.” I’m super excited about what we have in store for you this time around! We’ve focused the two days on two key themes - Zero Trust and Innovation.
If you’ve attended already, you’ll know that this is a great, two-day virtual event that offers some really high quality content on cloud native technologies. 100% open source focused, this event offers no vendor pitches, just content on open source technologies like Polaris and insights from end users.
There is so much happening in the cloud native space right now specifically around Zero Trust, which is why we’ve dedicated day one to the topic. Gartner defines zero trust network access (ZTNA) as products and services that create an identity- and context-based, logical-access boundary that encompasses an enterprise user and an internally hosted application or set of applications.
Zero Trust Day will take a serious look at what an entire application looks like when designed with zero trust. Each presentation will focus on one piece, from providing secure access to your cluster to securing communication within your cluster to managing TLS certificates and defining the necessary policies.
On Thursday, we will focus primarily on gaming, ML/AI, and other ground-breaking technologies that are shaping the ecosystem right now. Users today expect instantaneous, personalized experiences and have zero tolerance for downtime. During these sessions, you’ll hear from the experts who are building new data-intensive applications that scale to millions of users.
Platform engineering teams are building platforms to enable developers, and those platforms are built on cloud native technologies - Kubernetes, containers, and so on. Open source has become critical to any modern technology stack. KubeCrash aims to help engineering teams develop the needed skill set to leverage these technologies in their production environments effectively. During these two half-day knowledge-sharing and virtual learning sessions, developers, reliability engineers, cloud security specialists, and platform engineers will learn directly from the maintainers of some of the most popular cloud native open source projects.
I’m lucky enough to work alongside some great people at these organizations. We wanted to make sure that KubeCrash did some good, beyond some great education of course! That’s why we’ve teamed up to raise money for Ukraine. For each KubeCrash registration, we'll donate $1 to Unicef and Nova Ukraine. Together, they support children and families devastated by the war in Ukraine. It's a wonderful mission, and, if you agree, we encourage you to donate directly to the cause!
Come prepared for a schedule packed with great content and actionable insights directly from thought leaders and the teams that maintain some of the ecosystem's most popular open source projects. We have a lot in store for you, from keynotes by Ricardo Torres (Boeing) and Chris Voss (Xbox) to intros to CNCF end user resources to technical sessions and end user talks.
